Ym.fi is the official website of the Ministry of the Environment of Finland.
The pages are intended to all those interested in the ministry's administrative branch - businesses, municipalities, authorities and citizens. The web service provides comprehensive information on issues falling within the ministry's field of activity, including nature and environmental protection, housing and building, and the ministry's organisation. In addition to key projects, you will find information on legislation currently being drafted and the ministry's guidelines and regulations. You will also learn how the Ministry of the Environment promotes its objectives within the European Union and other international contexts. The web service is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.
The authorities under the environmental administration, SYKE the Finnish Environment Institute and ARA the Housing Finance and Development Centre of Finland, maintain their own websites. Links are provided at the top of this page. The centres for economic development, transport and the environment (ELY centres) and regional state administrative agencies have also their own web services. Topical material relating to these organisations, such as press releases, training and publications, are available from their own web services.
The joint website of Finland's environmental administration, environment.fi, provides citizens and organisations with extensive national and regional level information on the state of the environment, different species, permit procedures and ongoing assessment projects. A link to the service can also be found at the top of this page.
