Ministry of the Environment as a workplace

All of us at the Ministry of the Environment want to ensure a better environment for future generations. We therefore work hard to build a sustainable living environment and to create green growth.

About 250 people work in a variety of positions at the Ministry of the Environment to reach these goals. Expert and supporting functions in the preparation of regulations, environmental and housing policy, and administration are the most typical ones. The Ministry also offers a large number of international tasks.

Employees engaged in the preparation of legislation and expert tasks as a rule hold a master’s degree. Those in support functions usually hold an upper secondary qualification.

The work tasks are challenging and diverse. Work in the Ministry is societally significant and offers a view into state and environmental administration.
